Pellegrini: “We did it the correct way”

Manuel Pellegrini goes into the match against Southampton the club has conducted itself correctly in the transfer market.

He makes it clear that there is no way anybody can be less than happy and accepts that could easily have been sacked by now.

Speaking to reporters  he said: “Nobody is happy and nobody can be happy. We’ve spent money – all the other teams have spent money as Fulham did last season and they were relegated.

Aston Villa have done it this season and they are in the same position. Every team in the Premier League must spend money because it’s a very competitive league because the value of the players every day is higher.

So I think that we did it the correct way. We are in a bad moment as not all the other teams but a lot of teams… Burnley, Wolverhampton at the beginning, Bournemouth, Chelsea at the beginning, Arsenal, Tottenham, it’s a difficult league where the difference is very little between one player and the other one.

I repeat it’s not normal to have five points from 13 and very bad results. That’s why I know that the owner trusts what we are doing because another owner maybe you have been sacked before and we know what football is and we are trying to get results.

  1. Oh no. He just makes it worse. He might as well throw the dice now. Three at the back & Haller & Antonio. Plus some in the middle of course😂😂

  2. Please tell me why this man refuses to play 2 up top? He cannot be this bad a manager surely or was his time at city a fluke?

  3. I don’t wish to knock his broken english but he comes over sometimes as being incoherent.

    • There appears to be some important words missing from the article which makes it difficult to understand what he’s trying to say, but most of his interviews are difficult to understand so maybe there’s not missing words!

  4. I’m sure there’s a contractual obligation to maintain the club position. His true thoughts and feelings are probably very different to those we keep hearing.
I guess when we read the autobiographies of Zola, Grant, Bilic, Allardyce, Moyes and Pellegrini we will come across a common denominator!
And I think we probably already know who that will be.

  5. Wheelchair is the worst of his signings followed by The Yeti … the others haven’t been abysmal.
But please Mr Pellegrini play two up front.
    .

  6. He will be sacked if we lose today and does not play 2 up top. It is as simple as this. His signings have been atrocious. Fredericks is the worse rb in the league, Wilshere was a joke of a signing, Haller is not suited to playing as a lone striker so why buy him if you are playing a lone striker and he bough Fornals as a wide player. The dog on the street knows he is not a forward player. He has to be sacked today if we lose and he does not change the system. The system and team I would play today is a 3-5-2 with Martin, Zaba, Balbuena, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell or Masa, Rice, Fornals, Anderson, Antonio and Haller. Lets have a proper go tonight.
